Comic #2.168 “Crackle”
The Real Panther has finally shown up and taken charge. Just like the Real Ghostbusters. Suck it, Funimation!

ARTFIGHT rung a bell with me when I first learned of it, and I couldn’t figure it out. Earlier today, while flipping channels, it came to me. Current aired a pod late last year that should get people pumped for ARTFIGHT while giving them an idea what they may be in for. Go check out You vs. Me: Graffiti War to get psyched for art battle madness.
Episode 3 of the podcast is now live. Join us for an hour of fun discussing Batman Returns, Warped Tour, Radiohead, show booking, exgirlfriends and inept staffing.

To get in the spirit for the upcoming show, here is the video for the song, Nrrrd Grrrl from the new MC Chris album titled: MC Chris is Dead. Props to Sexiest Geeks Alive for making the video.
Let’s face it, a good nerd girl is hard to find, let alone a good nerd girlfriend. If you find one, make sure you keep it locked up nice and secure so no one will see. Also, make sure you don’t feed them after midnight. Crazy shit happens. You gotta treat ‘em right.
Oh yeah.
In case you haven’t heard the news….MC Chris Is Dead.
Or rather, he’s a zombie now.
And hey! He also happens to be going on tour!
Now, wouldn’t it be great if a certain Baltimore based webcomic was doing something really cool for his show?
Hm. I think we can make that happen.

Yes, that’s right…the rumors are true.
Not only on June 1st, will you be dazzled by the amazing rap stylings of [adult swim]’s own MC Chris…
Not only will you be lulled into joy with the glitch pop stylings of The Age of Rockets…
Not only will your face be rocked off by the non-stop dance party that is Karmella’s Game…
But on that fateful Sunday night, two men will battle using only the canvas at their weapon.
Dead of Summer’s own Nick “Ghostfreehood” Borkowicz going toe-to-toe, pen-to-pen with Erfworld’s Jami “Angry Zen Master” Noguchi in a no-holds-barred, come-as-you are ARTFIGHT!
You will see live art made before your eyes, and ONLY ONE WILL WIN!
It’s an evening for the ages…and The Ottobar will never be the same.
Come on, what else are you doing on a Sunday night? Forget Monday, forget the new work week. Get ready for the night of a lifetime. June 1st. The Ottobar. BE THERE.
Yep, I screwed the pooch this time.
Last night, I went to see Radiohead at Nissan Pavillion, thinking I’d get in late (but not horribly late) to post the update. Unfortunately, I got in at 3am. I get up for my day job at 5:30am.
Suffice to say, I chose sleep over blogging a comic. However! We have a kickin’ rad piece of fan art that we’ll be posting as soon as I get in the door from work today.
I apologize greatly for our rather spotty update schedule as of late, but I promise, we’re getting back on track.
This past Saturday, as any nerd worth their while knows, was Free Comic Book Day.
Always looking to make it a special occasion, Nick and I headed down to DC to meet with some of our fellow creators, and get comics from the always awesome Fantom Comics in Tenleytown.
During this excursion, we made quite a few jokes about Green Lantern…specifically his weakness to the color yellow. Nick decided to illustrate a few of these jokes for you. Enjoy!
We’ve watched the trailers, bought the merch, and hang on every piece of new media…
But I think our collective love of The Dark Knight here is starting to go too far.
This weekend, our buddy Ross was printing out some pretty rad posters, and he ended up with a scrap copy…that wound up in Nick’s hands.
I…well, you’ll see what he did about it.
Warner Bros…if you’re reading, push up the release of The Dark Knight. I’m afraid of what Nick may do next.
As you may recall, we’ve been regular attendees of the Baltimore Comic Con for a few years now. After enjoying ourselves, but not doing major business, we’ve been looking at just going as average joes, as opposed to having a merch table this year.
Might not be such an awful idea…as this year’s guest list is kinda nutty.
Check out these headliners!
Honestly, this is just a small taste…and this might be the best selection of guests they’ve ever had. I’m beside myself.
Baltimore Comic Con hits the Baltimore Convention Center on September 27th and 28th. You know we’ll be there.
And Hey! while we’re on the topic of comic books…tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day! Show your local shop some love, grab some free comics, and buy that trade you’ve been eying up for a few weeks. You’ll feel good ’bout it.
Hey gang! Today’s comic is done. However, my at home internet connection is wacky (another fun time with Comcast), so I have to upload it here at work. It’ll be up shortly, I swear!
