Wow. Hard to believe that here we are, 50 comics deep into the journey that is Dead of Summer.  Just this past Christmas, it was nothing more than a concept, and now, here we are, 7 months later with 50 comics, about to hit the next level, and that’s what this post is all about.

Strap yourself in, as a lot of information is about to come at you, and fast.

Item #1: That countdown.

As I’m sure you’ve been wondering, what’s the deal with that countdown at the end of the posts?  And what was that statement? Well, that statement, loosely translated from latin, means: “Where once there was 1, now there are 2.”  Which makes our first big announcement.  Just as an artshow brough this comic to the forefront…we’re about to do it again. TWICE.

Mark your calendars, kids!  GHOSTFREEHOOD is having not ONE, but TWO artshow parties in October. Both nights will be at the Ottobar in lovely downtown Maryland.  Night 1, the opening party, is on Friday the 13th of October, at 7pm.  The second closing party is on October 29th, and is a special COSTUME party, so get dressed up, and get ready to have a great time. There’s another surprise about the 29th date, but I’m not sure if we can hype it. Yet.

Item #2: Otakon and you.

The time is here! THIS WEEKEND, we will be large and in charge at the Baltimore Convention Center, for OTAKON 2006. We will have a table set up in the Artist’s Alley (#J05), and will also be part of the Webcomics panel on Saturday Night, at 7pm.  Stop in, say hi, and make friends.  We will also have the FIRST Dead of Summer merchandise on hand…which brings me to the next item…

Item #3: Dead of Summer Merchandise

After loads of talk, the merch is HERE.  These items will be exclusively for sale FIRST at Otakon this weekend, then we will have at ALL of our appearances, and on THIS very site, payable through Paypal. What do we have?
