Holy freaking crap.

Who are all of you people, and how did you make our weekend so great?

Otakon 2006, Dead of Summer’s first convention appearance ended up as not only one of the best moments I’ve had in doing this comic, but in my life, period.

The overall response from the Otakon faithful was overwhelming to say the least, with you crazy kids causing us to go through our first print of Mini-Comics and Posters on DAY ONE, with a second printing (with higher numbers no less!) being cleaned out on Saturday. The t-shirts were moving as well, with our special con package of the shirts and pins going like hotcakes.

I cannot thank everyone who visited our table (and/or is visiting this site currently) enough, but I’d like to make some special thanks:
Firstly, to the people we did the panel with: A big thanks to Kelly Price of ComicGenesis, who took a chance on us upstart kids, letting us on the panel to begin with, which I think went well. A thanks as well to Ross Nover of The Rockets, Phil Kahn of Biscuit Press (amongst many projects), Matt Boyd of MacHall, and Bill Holbrook of Kevin and Kell (just to name one of his many comics). You guys made us feel at home, and hopefully this isn’t the last panel we get to appear on. We had a blast, and would love to do it again.

To the random friends we made this weekend, including Bill of RandomNJ (which unfortunately seems to be down for now) and James (aka Vicissitude at the SA Forums…goony, goony goony, goon), it’s a shame you guys aren’t Marylanders, you rock. Special props to James who was kind enough to help us man our table! If that doesn’t say quality guy, I’m not sure what does.

Finally, a really important thanks to our good friends. Mike Rodman, Mike George, Jim Fromm, and Alex Creef weren’t just our traveling buddies, they were our support the whole way. This post really can’t dignify how lucky we are to have them behind us, nor how truly appreciative of them we were this weekend, and are this moment. Thanks again guys, you really helped us make this weekend one for the books.

To anyone’s name or site URL I forgot, I apologize…it’s been a crazy weekend, and I’m writing this on 9 hours sleep the entire weekend.

But enough of the emo! I know all you new readers are thinking I’m crazy, but I promise, I won’t get all weepy in the future. New comic coming at you Wednesday, along with the typical fun that is our newsposts. And! we should have our online store figured out by Wednesday, so merch will be available then too!
