Comic #119 “Water Traps”
Happy Friday everyone. Going to get to things quick, as there’s some important information to get out.
First, we will be at Katsucon this February. I’s are dotted, T’s are crossed, and it appears that we’re actually featured webcomic guests for the convention. A special thank you to Ross from The Rockets for the assistance, and very gracious thank yous to everyone at Katsu for making that possible.
Next…you might want to sit down for this.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It was nearly one year ago where I announced the intent of myself and Nick Borkowicz to create and produce a webcomic entitled Dead of Summer.
Since it’s debut on April 7th, 2006, Dead of Summer has grown from a simple idea to a full fledged comic. Over 115 updates, a handful of con appearances, two art shows, and thousands of hits later, we’re ready to take the next step.
April 7th, 2007…The Next Step Begins.
On April 7th, 2007, we proudly present the debut of Dead of Summer: Book One. Featuring the entire first arc of Dead of Summer, with remastered art and dialogue, as well as exclusive behind the scenes insights, this volume is the all encompassing document of the trials and tribulations that go into building a webcomic.
….But that’s not all.
To celebrate a proper birthday, you need a party, correct?
Dead of Summer returns to the Ottobar in downtown Baltimore, Maryland on April 7th, this time with a twist.
5 Bands. 2 Shows. 1 Year Anniversary.
The fun begins in the afternoon, with a full fledged show downstairs featuring five bands handpicked by both Nick and myself. If that wasn’t enough, the show will also feature video game kiosks for you to play during the afternoons events, and tables featuring some of our favorite fellow local webcomic creators. This show will also be your FIRST opportunity to purchase copies of Dead of Summer: Book One, signed by the creators (naturally).
Once the party ends downstairs, it continues upstairs into the evening with the latest art show as presented by Ghostfreehood.
Keep an eye right here, and at a soon to be revealed special site JUST for the show for additional details, as over the upcoming weeks, we’ll be announcing the bands scheduled to play, plus some other special surprises.
Let’s make this a day to remember.
April 7th. The Ottobar. Dead of Summer. Be there. Tell your friends.
Back Monday.
