Greetings, loyal Dead of Summer fans and newbies alike.

My apologies for the lack of normal Wednesday update, as today, the comic is bumped for a special announcement.  The first official band for our April 7th One Year Celebration/Book Release show, at the place where it all started…The Ottobar in Baltimore, Maryland.

Before I get to the announcement, however, I must admit a minor change to the line up.  One of the five bands originally scheduled for the show, Attractive & Popular, will not be able to make the show, due to prior commitments.  They greatly wish they could have been able to be a part of the show, but unfortunately, cannot make the show on the 7th.  We apologize for any inconvenience due to the change, and we’re currently working on putting something together with them when they come through Baltimore during the summer.

But let’s look toward the show.

FOUR Bands, Two Shows, One Day.  Starting with the live music downstairs, the show shifts upstairs for the latest and greatest artshow put on by Ghostfreehood (a sample of the paintings to be shown is at the top of this post, where normally the comic rests).

Karmella’s Game

This announcement should come as no surprise to long-time followers of the site, and of the Baltimore scene in general.  With their trademark keyboard-pop-rock mix, Karmella’s Game has grown into one of the area’s biggest bands, and we’re proud to have them as part of the celebration.  If you’ve never had the opportunity to see Karmella’s Game live before, you’re in for quite the treat.  Featuring the lead vocals and keyboard stylings of KTO,  guitar shredding by Aaron S, and their superb rhythm section of Mandy K on Bass and Joe O on drums, all mixed into epic songs featuring four part harmonies and breakdowns unheard of in the area, Karmella’s Game will be turning the Dead of Summer One Year Celebration into a giant dance party.
