Ok, so Spider-Man 3?…kinda weak (fun action sequences though), Pirates 3? A little too muddied in the middle.  Shrek The Third?  Couldn’t even convince me to see it.

But despite the run of AWFUL threequels this summer, I’m very pleased to report one actually worked for the better.  Ocean’s 13.

I know, I know. Ocean’s 12 was a piece of shit…and #3’s are always worse than #2’s.  BEHOLD! The exception to the rule! Ocean’s 13 is a slick, stylish, and downright fun caper flick which grabs you from the get go and keeps you enthralled through every twist and turn of the heist.  The cast is a blast as always, and unlike Ocean’s 12, which kinda felt like Awesome Hollywood Dudes Go To Europe: The Movie, 13’s script has an actual, honest to god plot, and loads of hilarious moments.

As someone who considers Ocean’s 11 as one of his favorite movies…and Ocean’s 12 as one of the biggest disappointments…I’m VERY happy to say that Ocean’s 13 hearkens back to what made 11 so great.  Absolutely recommended.
