Charlie Bartlett
July 25th, 2007 by Ghostfreehood!Monday night I had the pleasure of participating in a screening at the Charles Theater for the film Charlie Bartlett. Charlie Bartlett was a ride down memory lane. No, not my high school years but it’s suggestive nod to the Brat Pack of the 1980’s. The film’s focus is on Charlie’s descent into public high school from private school and his rise to popularity by selling prescription drugs and advice to gain friends and respect among all the social cliques among the students.
One thing you may not know about this film is it’s Director; Jon Poll. Jon has strictly been an Editor for his entire career. He has edited films ranging from the 1990’s Captain America movie to Meet the Fockers, 40 Year Old Virgin and the Austin Powers films. This is one hell of a debut. Charlie Bartlett is a breath of fresh air from the summer’s in your face blockbusters.
Charlie Bartlett hits theaters August 3rd and is highly recommended. Not to mention it’s got Mister Robert Downey Jr. as the school’s principal. How can you go wrong?
