I think one of the things to take into consideration with pricing is how much content is included in the book. I’m a bit out of touch, I’m afraid, with what the book contains exactly. Essentially though, as far as profit goes, I believe the standard equation is to take how much it cost to print everything, add what you’d like to make for your time invested, divide by number of books to get an individual book cost and fudge that number a bit until it looks right. (actually most people double that number, but fif it’s too expensive, folks won’t buy.)
I think $20-$25 would be fair, however, despite not knowing exactly what’s inside. It seems like a good ballpark.
Oh wow, I didn’t expect people to guess how much the book was!
I meant it toward the figure of speech, “a picture is worth a thousand words…how many words do you think this is worth”…haha.
But seriously, Book 1 runs about 140 pages, b&w interior (doing the reds would incur some major costs that honestly, we can’t afford…yet.), and should be selling for $12-$15.
Provided everything is good to go, as we sent the files to our publisher last night, Book 1 should be ready within 3 weeks, meaning we MIGHT just have it in time for the show in August.
