Diana Prince
September 27th, 2007 by BrianAlright, so this isn’t about Wonder Woman, but it’s about Amazon and it was the first pseudo-clever, vague-ish title I could come up with at midnight. Either way, it seems as if what’s arguably the internet’s greatest book store can do no wrong lately. With the purchase of BookSurge (albeit in 2005), they’ve made it easier than ever for self-publishers to get on the print-on-demand band wagon by incorporating a complete synergy with their online bookstore. On top of that they’ve just launched their DRM free MP3 store (OK, they’ve actually been selling DRM free MP3 tunes on their website for a while, but there’s an official store now).
With so many online music distributors doing it wrong, it’s very refreshing to see a corporation as large as Amazon doing the right thing in such a big way. Now if we can only get them to tag which artists are and aren’t on labels associated with the RIAA we’d be in some real business. Happy music hunting.
