I really hope next week will “man up” and deliver the goods. Not saying I didn’t like this weeks episode but I have some faith that “prime time shows” will not sleep and run set up more than one episode. If there is no action, wouldn’t there be pressure from the network to keep the ratings with at least one good jaw dropping spectacle.
On another topic though, I actually like Maya & Alejandro. I love the dependency. What if or should I say when Alejandro dies (hypothetically speaking) and Maya is on her own, what’s that going to be like? She’s going to be a fierce unstoppable and uncontrollable plague. What if Sylar succeeds at eating Alejandro’s brain and not Maya’s before she learns to control it? Granted that means Sylar gets his powers back but, I think we can say that could be about to happen.
I’m writing a piece on Heroes in my Intro Media class, i concluded that the diverse characters in the show are to connect with the diverse viewers that watch the show. As you mentioned about the “strong black woman out of post-Katrina NOLA”, the heroes viewers in New Orleans that survived Hurricane Katrina will view her as their favorite character and they will continue to view the show to see her progress of her getting back to normal. And the teenage girls, they will connect with Claire. The hispanics, connect with those two other hispanics. The asians, the young black kids, the WWE fans, you get the drill?
It’s network television, they don’t give a shit about the fans, just the viewers. Yes, there is a difference.
The best thing about the NOLA storyline is that with Uhura there, you know the producers are trying to get James Doohan and DeForest Kelley into the cast… Oh wait.
Well, Walter Koenig is still available, if you’re willing to stoop to Chekov.

Muggles being baselines (regular humans), or Mr. Muggles, the future slayer of Sylar and saviour of the “Heroes” world? We must be clear on this.

I, of course, mean Mr. Muggles - Dog Champion and Winner of Hearts Nationwide.

This is actually the first episode of Heroes ever without Hiro in any capacity (young Hiro in Company Man was the one episode without Masi).
Maya and Alejandro are for Heroes what Nikki and Paolo were for S3 Lost. They’ll be dead by the time they reach NYC.
I *really* hate Claire’s storyline. This is supposed to be science-farking-fiction, not some 90’s teen movie.
And the NOLA storyline is worthless save for Monica’s power and Nichelle Nichols.
