A couple of weeks ago I succumbed to the lure of Portal. Lacking an Xbox 360, but having an active Steam account from way back when Half-Live 2 first launched, my aging PC was tested (and held up pretty well) so that I can play this game. Truth told, I had no interest at all in playing it until I heard “Still Alive.” I had to play the game that spawned that song. It’s now my default ringtone.
This had me waxing all sorts of nostalgic like on old game songs and it wasn’t long before I was looking up some classic fan-created songs inspired by some of my favorite games. Among them was one of my favorites of all time. “Tiax Rules ” was a fine example of game inspired awesome that married some catchy techno to the clever and unbeatable scripting and voice-over work in the Baldur’s Gate games. Get to clickin’ and enjoy some late 90’s gaming happy.
Tiax will slap ya silly.
