DoS, a web-comic and all, appeals not only to the twisted, degenerate outcasts we hope it does, but to traditional comic fans as well. Where there exist comic fans, there hide comic creators. If you’ve ever had a story just eating at your brain (hopefully in a non zombie-like fashion) but felt that the opportunity wasn’t there for you, then boy do Newsarama and Shadowline (an Image Comics imprint) have some fantastic news for you!

Editor Kristen Simon has posted a writer based super-heroine creation contest over at Newsarama’s message board. Do the comic industry a favor and head over, check out the details, and submit your very best ideas. The deadline for the first part of the contest is January 31st, and multiple submissions ARE allowed. Do your part to help the comic world grow fresh and unique.
