In an interview with Metal Sanaz (myspace metal show) guitarist Paul Allender from Cradle of Filth informs us that Cradle will be going back into the studio in January. Well that was last month, I know. Having just seen the video interview though I figured I’d share the news. Cradle of Filth’s new record will be more like their older sounding material!
Paul says it will be a mixture of Midian and Dusk and Her Embrace , at least that’s what they are aiming for I guess. This news is a relief for most Cradle fans. Personally, Thornography has a special place among my library. I thought it was cool. It was the most mainstream anything the band has ever released but it has it’s moments. I often listen but usually skip Temptation. The album may of even had more success with Fetus as a single. Anyway, I’m sure some of the mainstream play will work it’s way into the new material. One thing is certain however. This news leaves me very hopeful for the new record. I choose Midian over Dusk but when it comes to the “getting back to your roots” album in a band’s career, it usually works out for the best. Usually. In any case, I’m in.
