Vintage Promotion
April 7th, 2008 by Ghostfreehood!Nostalgia is a funny thing. It could be me but, I think if any of these commercials posted below where still running today, sales would be up. Consumerism’s quick sale on distant memories isn’t going away anytime soon. Just look at Hollywood. With generations building bridges to unite families with titles like Transformers and Star Wars, kids these days are becoming their parents in a matter of speaking. We’re able to take the phrase, “I remember that from when I was little” and turn it into a sale.
It would be interesting to see what would happen. What if television was pumped with these old commercials? Every time you go to a Target or major store these days the shelves are still stocked with the appearance they had 20 years ago. I’d like to see it. Indiana Jones is coming out soon. I can still buy Burger Time and plug it into my TV set. Why not be vintage with your promotion too? Your still selling me the same products.
