Mighty Markup
May 23rd, 2008 by BrianI obsess over few things. The list can be summed up thusly: D&D, Robot Chicks, and DOCTOR MUTHERFUCKING DOOM! To say that I have a small collection of Doom related stuff is like saying Avogadro’s Number has a few zeros at the end. I love me some Doom, hence why I picked up a little something when my keen, awesome-seeking eyes spotted it.

Hasbro’s had their Mighty Muggs line on shelves for a while now, and I’ve been intersted in picking some up. I’d even missed out on Darth Maul and Boba Fett when I passed them up this Christmas. I told myself that I shouldn’t be shopping for me during the holidays and I missed out because of it. Now DOOM is not pass uppable. Not by a longshot. He is now mine and gets placed in the Collection of Doom where he adds even more awesomosity to an already formidable hoard.
I do have one regret, however. I happened to see this particular Mighty Mugg at Urban Outfitters. I didn’t find out until looking for links for this post that it would mean I’d pay a 100% hipster tax for shopping there, as it was double Hasbro’s suggested retail price. I guess it may have impressed that one kid dancing by the entrance, who was far too young to have watched the original TMNT cartoon, but was singing the theme song all the same. Oh, how hip the 80’s seem to be. Can you honestly be nostalgic about something that came out before you were born? Oh well, at least they carry Dunnys.

I personally have the first Marvel series (Spidey/Wolverine/Venom/Iron Man) surrounding my new TV.
I’m quite afraid of how much I like them, as I am convinced that I’ll end up buying ALL of them, if I don’t stay smart and limit myself to ONLY the Marvel ones.
…Mighty Mugg Dr. Henry Jones though, he is REALLY tempting…
